The Studio Experience

Karl will expertly guide you through the aesthetic and practical considerations of various styles and approaches in a delightfully collaborative process of discovery and design.

Karl has created a transparent environment free of middlemen and sales people, where he works face to face with customers to ensure nothing is lost in translation.

The heart of Rings True is the unfinished walnut counter where you and Karl will bend your heads together over sketches and photos, and samples of precious stones and metals.

To begin, Karl will show you samples of different styles—old fashioned and modern, fine and lacy, architectural and geometric—and show you the latest trends and fashions in bridal and bespoke jewelry.

He’ll ask you about your tastes, what you want your rings to express, and also about practical matters such as your occupation and lifestyle—important considerations with a piece of jewelry you plan to wear every day for a lifetime.

Once a design is approved, Karl sets to work, keeping you apprised of progress.

While the actual benchwork is done by hand, a powerful computer workstation loaded with CAD software allows photo-realistic modeling of your jewelry to preserve your unique creation for perpetuity. Your design is safely archived so if your jewelry is ever lost, it can be recreated.

Most pieces can be designed and created within 4 to 8 weeks.

Another delight: value and affordability.

So what does it cost to wear one-of-a-kind jewelry created by a master jewelsmith?

Absent middlemen and with minimal overhead, prices are competitive with retailers who only offer mass-produced jewelry. With complete control over design, materials, and labor, Karl transforms "this is our budget" into "this is amazing."
